Our Sunday routine now includes picking up our our weekly order from Galveston’s Own Farmers Market. This beautiful bounty inspired me to pull out a couple of my favorite cookbooks: friend and author Robb Walsh’s Texas Eats and Houston restauranteur extraordinaire Chris Shepherd’s Cook Like a Local. Thinking I will try Eggplant and Spaghetti one night. Then Charred Shishito Peppers with Corn and Soy also sounds amazing! Earlier today, @culturetrip asked their followers Earlier today, @culturetrip asked their followers what was their favorite alley? My immediate thought was the alley behind my home growing up where we took many walks and played many games of “kick the can” with neighborhood friends. Since I don’t have any pictures of the alley off of Evergreen Street, I will share one from my travels: Fan Tan Alley in Victoria, BC. A gambling district filled with opium dens in its original days, it is the narrowest street in Canada.
